Every student is unique and learns at their own pace. That being said, younger students (ages 2-4) are still learning their letters, numbers and hand coordination, so will take anywhere from 2 months to a year to grasp fingers placement, pattern recognition and the necessary motor skills required to play. Children ages 4 and up  learn the basics as they practice simple songs. The same applies to adults, though we use different books. From there everyone progresses at individual speeds, with the most important factor being the amount of practice time the student invests.

Lessons are held weekly from September through June, though some students sign up to do 2 a week!  We agree on a lesson time and place (in studio or in home), and that is your slot for the year.  July and August are flexible and booked on a week to week basis.

If a student is sick, there is a family emergency or inclement weather, a make-up is automatically granted. If there is a conflict with your weekly time slot, such as a social event or vacation that is outside of the regular school holidays (long weekends, winter break, March break), with advance notice I can try to arrange a make-up, though it is not guaranteed. I always aim to be fair and accommodating.
